Explore your true, spiritual nature?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>curiosity about the practice in general, wanting to learn something new<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-261\" src=\"http:\/\/12yogaquestions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/matthews1-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"310\" height=\"465\" \/>How about now: does yoga feed your mind or your body or your spirit more, or are those elements more in balance than when you started?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>feeds my spirit the most<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>How long have you practiced yoga, and how long did you practice before you started teaching it?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>practicing for 19 years, teaching for 11<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Do you have a preferred yoga style?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>love them all \u2014 Hatha if I have to pick one<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>When you were starting your yoga journey, what came easiest and what was more challenging?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>easiest \u2014 breathing; more challenging \u2014 full presence in the practice<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>What have been the greatest benefits of yoga for you?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>experiencing life with greater ease, grace &amp; purpose<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>From your experience as a teacher, can you generalize about what comes easiest for beginners and what is more challenging?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>easiest \u2014 exploring poses; more challenging \u2014 settling the mind<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I understand you work with sound healing, particularly Crystal Alchemy Singing Bowls. Is that a regular part of your yoga sessions?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>yes \u2014 they provide a lovely atttunement<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Apart from yoga, do you practice other techniques of mindfulness or meditation?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>yes, many! \u2014 mindfulness has become this way of moving through the world for me \u2014 I also love metta meditation and heart coherence<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Do you regularly do other forms of exercise?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>hiking, cycling, weight-lifting, and stand up paddle boarding<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Outside of a yoga session, do you ever just strike a pose and stretch? If so, which pose and where?<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>standing crescent moon pose whenever I need to perk myself up a bit \u2014 I&#8217;ll do this anywhere<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You have a choice: lead a yoga class (1) outdoors on a beautiful day, overlooking the ocean, or (2) in a well-designed, very comfortable minimalist indoor space.
